Advanced Endoscopy Including ERCP / EUS
What are the differences?
Advanced endoscopy procedures include endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP):
- EUS: Combines endoscopy and ultrasound to examine the digestive tract and surrounding organs. EUS is the most effective way to diagnose pancreatic disease.
- ERCP: Combines a flexible endoscope with X-rays to examine the ducts that drain the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. ERCP can be used to treat biliary and pancreatic diseases.
